Carlton Vapour Trail Elite – Review
The Vapour Trail Elite has been designed for the advanced player seeking maximum power without compromising on accuracy and control. The Bi-Axial Dynamic frame is incredibly aerodynamic ensuring increased racket head speed while the Optimetric head shape combined with Pro V12 grommets ensures this power is coupled with outstanding control. Add to this a stiff shaft and a head heavy frame and you get a racket that delivers unrivalled power with an incredibly sharp response.
Playability
For players looking for added power without compromising control. This racket has a stiff shaft with increased weight in the head which makes it perfect for a singles or attacking doubles player.
The Technology
Carlton’s research and development department has been closely studying the bio mechanics of the badminton swing. This extensive research has been driven with one vision: to create a frame that delivers aerodynamic efficiency at every phase of the overhead badminton swing.
Bio-mechanical analysis of the overhead badminton swing highlights two distinct aerodynamic directions evident during the swing phase. Air flow analysis during the swing phase also demonstrates the existence of two aerodynamic directions. The Bi-Axial Dynamics frame develops more efficient aerodynamics in both directions compared to competitor frames.
This increased efficiency is delivered through a head cross sectional frame profile that is more aerodynamic than competitor frames. During development, over 80% of players stated the new Bi-Axial frame profile delivered increased swing speed.
Positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock positions, these specialised grommets have been softened to allow greater string movement thereby increasing power across the hitting zone.
World Class Materials
Precision engineering and the utilisation of the finest construction materials ensures your frame can accommodate up to 11% higher string tensions compared with some competitor frames.
Sourced from Japan, Japanese Hi Modulus (HM) Carbon is the highest specification carbon available on the market ensuring your frame will outperform all other construction materials for frame response and stability.
By introducing 4 convex channels into the top cap, stiffness of the top cap is increased allowing for greater shot accuracy and control.
Using a matrix structure, Carlton has re-engineered the end cap to reduce its weight by 28% contributing to overall enhanced playability.
Specs
Head Shape: Optimetric
Weight: 90g

Kim Astrup Sorensen takes Mixed Doubles title in Scotland
Carlton’s Kim Astrup Sorensen and partner Line Kjaersfeldt from Denmark have won the Mixed Doubles title at the Scottish International Championships 2011 beating the number one seeded pair of Wojciech Szkudlarczyk and Agnieszka Wojtkowska from Poland 15-21 21-15 21-13.
Sorensen (Razor V1.0) and his 17 year old partner found it tough going in the opening game as the top seeds rarely gave the Danish pair an opportunity to impose themselves. But just as they did in the semi-final after going a game down the Danish pair never lost belief and upped their own game taking the second game 21-15.
From here on in there was only ever going to be one outcome as the Danes grew in confidence and dominated the game, eventually closing out the match 21-13 in the final game.

Carlton Razor V1.1 – The Review
The Razor V1.1 is the second badminton racket in Carlton’s ‘Razor’ line and incorporates all of the advanced technologies seen in the V1.0 but adapted to meet the needs of those seeking more power.
The Carton Razor V1.1 racket was carefully hand crafted to precise specifications by skilled craftsmen. Precision engineering and the use of the finest construction materials makes the frame able to accommodate 11% higher string tensions while the Bi-Axial Dynamics frame offers more efficient aerodynamics.
Razor Guided Technology softens the impact of the shuttle on the string bed to improve touch and feel, but not how it’s done conventionally. A grommetless construction at three and nine o’clock ensures direct contact between the cross strings and the racket frame. This increased synergy between the two makes for razor sharp control and feedback without compromising power.
Playability
The Razor V1.1 has been developed for advanced players with an aggressive game. The balance point has been shifted, making the racket head-heavy, and this, along with the stiffened shaft, suits the more aggressive player. Thanks to the new Optimetric head geometry, the racket is more powerful, faster and easier to control with the impact of the shuttle on the string bed being softened by the Razor Guided Technology, which improves touch and feel.
